Defense wins..?

At this point, the Dallas Mavericks need a miracle to happen to make it into the postseason. Dallas played in Miami last night and entered the game just half a game behind the Thunder for the 10th and final spot in the Western conference play-in tournament. After losing to the Heat 129-122, Dallas is now a full game behind.

Dallas would need to finish the season 4-0 or 3-1 at the absolute worst and need a ton of other things to to work in their favor. As a Cleveland Brown’s fan, I know the pain of your postseason hopes depending on other teams winning or losing. Dallas winning out even feels like stretch. They have lost six of the last seven games, and nine of the last 12.

I remember when the Kyrie move happened fans were excited to watch him and Luka play together and the playoffs felt like a guarantee. Both are amazing, generational players with the ball in their hands.. The defensive end of the floor is where I knew they would get tripped up. Jimmy Butler went off for 35 points and the Heat had five players score 15 or more points. Dallas not being able to lock in and get stops with their season on life support paints the picture of what this team has been recently.
