After a successful season last year by the Giants standards, they will have a lot of eyes on them this year. I am excited to see how Darren Waller fits into the offense and if he can be the much-needed pass-catcher the Giants have longed for. Just to give you some perspective, last season the Giants only had 28 plays with passes that were 20 or more yards. That was last in the NFL.
Many people have mixed feelings about Waller, and his health has been an issue. Waller has played 20 out of 34 games in the last two seasons, but it’s hard to ignore that his last full season he caught 107 passes for 1,196 yards and nine touchdowns. Playing with a different quarterback will definitely be a factor, but Waller could be the guy to get Daniel Jones and the G-Men over the hump and back to relevance.
