The Denver Nuggets got off to a fast start last night and didn’t slow down. When Kevin Durant joined the Phoenix Suns, many of us expected them to breeze through the West with their offensive firepower, but the Denver Nuggets might have something to say about that.
Denver came out of the gate blasting and getting contributions from everyone early in the game. Phoenix was able to match them for a little bit but Denver opened up a 17-point lead before halftime and never looked back. Jokic tallied 24 points, 19 rebounds and five assists, Aaron Gordon chipped in 23 points and six rebounds. The star of the game was Jamal Murray pouring in 34 points hitting six shots from deep and adding nine assists. Denver put together a complete game.
I still think Phoenix will win this series, but game two is a must win for the Suns. Hopefully Phoenix can limit their turnovers (they had 16 last night) and rebound better after giving up 16 offensive rebounds.
