CE: What made you want to become a musician?
KS: I have always had a love and passion for music since a young age. My parents would listen to old school artist such as Biggie, 2pac , Faith Evans , Jill Scott and Mary J. Blige. Hearing these artist growing up made me fall I love with music. In high school I used to always freestyle but I never took it serious. Once I was forced to stop playing basketball in college due to injuries, I decided to take music seriously.
CE: Describe your creative process when you write new music.
KS: My creative process varies depending on the song. I make hip hop and r&b music. If I am making a rap song I’ll mumble with some different flows to find a catchy hook , then fill it in with words. When I am writing the verses for my rap songs , I mostly just listen to the beat and come up with my bars on the spot. When I am creating r&b songs I usually have a topic in mind once I hear the beat. I mumble melodies for the verses and the hook. Once I do this I pick the best melodies and fill them in with words. I like to let my r&b records sit for a few days or weeks and then go back to them to add harmonies and backgrounds vocals.
CE: Who’s your ideal musician to collaborate with and why?

KS: My ideal musician to collaborate with would be Drake. Not only is he my favorite artist of all time but he is also the biggest artist right now. It has been know that one drake feature can change an upcoming artists’ career. He sings and raps just like I do. I think him and I could get in the studio and make a great record.
CE: Any advice for someone looking to get into music?
KS: My advice to someone looking to get into music is to focus on the craft. You must put in the hours , improve and perfect your sound. Invest in your own studio equipment and lock yourself in the booth at least everyday for 2 years. Create a song a day. I would also advise someone looking to get into music to do countless research on the music business and marketing. In todays industry having good music is not enough. You must have a great image , a story , a fan base , and something that makes you stand out. It is difficult to be an independent artist but you must keep going despite the obstacles thrown at you. All the artist we look up to went through the same issues early on that you will. They just didn’t quit.
