We talked about this series on our podcast last weekend and it’s going to be a fun one. I took the Cavs to win in five games. The New York Knicks are a legendary franchise and have improved over the last couple of seasons, and the Cavs are a young team hitting their stride at the right time poised to make a run.
The Knicks won three of the four regular season meetings between these clubs, but things look different this time around. Keep in mind that Jarrett Allen didn’t play in those three losses so having him back will make a big difference for the Cavs. But the player that I am most excited for in this series is Evan Mobley. This series features good, physical big men on both teams, but Mobley is the best when it comes to both ends of the floor in my opinion.
All year Mobley has improved on the offensive end of the floor but his stats in March really stick out. He averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds, four assists on 58 percent shooting and posted a 9-5 record. He really started to roll at a crucial time in the season.
Mobley averaged 13.3 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 3.5 APG, 2.5 BPG and shot 53.7 percent against the Knicks this year.
