The long standing feud between Drake and his childhood role model, Kanye West continues to heat up. Just weeks ago, industry executive, Karen Civil tweeted that Drake and Kanye had squashed their beef. Some even speculated that Drake and Kanye MIGHT appear on each other’s albums scheduled to drop this summer. Fast forward to last Friday and the script has completely flipped, AGAIN.
Drake featured on Trippie Redd’s new album and took aim at Ye in his verse on the song “Betrayal”. Many people were caught off guard because of the recent rumors of the two being back on good terms. Kanye responded by posting messages from a group text that many people speculated Drake was apart of because of the “D” listed in the recipients. There are three things that really grab your attention: the picture of the Joker, the line that reads “You added Pusha T to the conversation” and the last line reading “You will never recover”. Kanye also took to Instagram Sunday night posting the address to Drake’s home in Toronto. Drake was then seen on his Instagram story riding around Toronto laughing. Both the group message and Drake’s address have been deleted from Ye’s Instagram.
Drake and Kanye have a complicated relationship that goes back nearly to the start of Drake’s career. They started as collaborators with each other, then over the years they started throwing subliminal shots at each in their songs and in 2018 their relationship totally flipped after some misunderstandings and it has turned into something much bigger. Both are schedule to drop an album sometime in the near future. Is this good promotion and do we expect to hear these two keep going at each other when their albums drop?
